The Community Mental Health Drug and Alcohol Research Network (CMHDARN)’s Five Year Evaluation Report highlights five years of growth, collaboration and impact across the community-managed mental health and non-government alcohol and other drugs sectors.
The comprehensive evaluation, covering 2020 to 2025, found strong and growing demand for CMHDARN’s work, including:
Members and partners described CMHDARN as a trusted platform that makes research more accessible, supports lived experience leadership, and connects services with academic and sector expertise.
The report also highlights the Network’s contribution to building research capacity through grants, mentoring, practical resources, ethical research support and sector-wide collaboration.
The findings support continued investment in CMHDARN, including longer-term funding, expanded grant opportunities and stronger pathways to translate community-generated evidence into policy and practice.
