Bridging the Gap: Bringing Evidence to Life in Practice and Policy (May 2025)
Evidence-based practice and policymaking is an ongoing process of informed, transparent, accountable, and effective decision-making. However, integrating evidence into our work can be challenging. This session explored principles and strategies for bridging the gap between research and practice and bringing evidence to life. The session considered the types of evidence that are most useful, reliable, and practical for the CMO/NGO mental health and AOD sector, and the opportunities for generating evidence through evaluations. This interactive session, facilitated by Dr Kate Davies and Dr Kerryn Butler from the Law and Justice Foundation of NSW, introduced practical research and evaluation concepts and methods.
