About the Network

The Community Mental Health Drug and Alcohol Research Network (CMHDARN) is a partnership project between Mental Health Coordinating Council (MHCC), the Network of Alcohol and other Drugs Agencies (NADA) and the Mental Health Commission of NSW.

Established in 2010, CMHDARN aims to enhance the involvement of the community mental health and alcohol and other drugs sectors in practice-based research and promote the value of research and the application of research evidence in practice.

Our Goals:

  • Enhance Service Quality: Improve the quality of service delivery and outcomes for consumers of community-managed services.
  • Raise Awareness: Increase understanding of issues and need regarding co-existing mental health and substance use.

Our Approach: CMHDARN fosters a research culture by creating opportunities for idea exchange, resource sharing, support, and collaboration among community organisations and research bodies, including universities and research institutes.

Building Research Capacity: We engage with our members through e-communications, our website, workshops, webinars, and other activities and resources. We value your input and encourage your active participation.
